Founded in 1949 in the residence of the United States Ambassador in Moscow, AAS today is located in a state-of-the-art, 24,000-square-meter campus in a lovely, wooded area of Northwest Moscow. More than 1100 students from over 60 countries attend classes from First Steps (age 3) through Grade 12. AAS is an independent non-profit, co-educational day school for English-speaking children of American, British and Canadian diplomats, as well as diplomats from other countries, members of the business community and Russian nationals. AAS offers an excellent English-as-a-Second-Language program to students from First Steps through Grade 10.
